A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Gateway Fellowship SBC in Gilbert, AZ. Winton, age 83, was born August 1, 1929 in Columbia, AL to the late Jesse and Ettie Mae Webb Culbreth. He passed away at home in Gold Canyon, AZ under hospice care on June 10, 2013 after a long battle with multiple cancers. He retired from the Air Force as a Lt. Colonel after serving 30 years as a pilot. He flew 130 B-52 bombing missions during the Vietnam War. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather and will be greatly missed. Lt. Col. Culbreth was preceded in death by Deolyn, the mother of his children; son, Mitch; sister, Minnie Benefield; and brothers, Bill, Robert, Earl and Max. Survivors include his wife Bobbie; sons, Bret (Terry) and Steve (Sandy); daughters, Debi and Terri; granddaughters, Misty and Ami (Roman); great-grandchildren, Jack, Simon and Sophie; step-sons, George (Suzanne), Jeff, Crews (Suzette) and Michael; step-grandchildren, Caroline, Wyatt, Katy, Jacob, Peter, Caleb and Liam, as well as his brother, Charles (Burna Dean) and sister, Sue Sellers. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Winton's beloved Gateway Fellowship Southern Baptist Church, 60 N. Recker Road, Gilbert, AZ 85234 in memory of Winton Culbreth.
