Chad Reidy Obituary

CLARKSBURG – Chad Reidy departed this world on his own terms Friday, April 7, 2017.

Chad was many things to many people and we all know how he came to be a part of our lives. He was a husband to Jo Ringer, a son to his Mom and Pops (Chris and John Fay) and Charles Reidy, a brother to his "sissy" Jennifer Carbery, a Grandson to June Wesson-Bernesser and a friend to countless others.

Chad was predeceased by his Grandfather Ralph Bernesser and his cherished Rottweiler, Dupree. He also leaves behind his "pretty bird," Tasha.

Chad, a wandering soul, was drawn to the woods and his love of music and "trusty" VW's drove him to numerous Phish and Grateful Dead shows. The back lots were his home the woods his church. With a charitable heart and a broad smile, he always jumped in, offering a hand to anyone in need. He was a genuine and carefree soul, generous with his warm, affectionate "free hugs". He recently realized his dream of home ownership and anticipated tending to bountiful gardens, a Noah's Ark of livestock all with his love Jo by his side. He would ask those who shared his life, to raise a beer, preferably a Flat Tire, in his memory.

A celebration of his final trip around the sun will be Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 4:20 to 7 p.m. at Ahearn Funeral Home 783 Bridge Rd., Northampton

We were best friends throughout elementary school. We lost touch for a while but always seemed to check in every few years at the most random times. Last time he reached out to me was on FB, while I was in the hospital for my daughter's birth. He just wanted to share some childhood memories from when we were kids, which I remember thinking at the time was great, because it all comes around again.
He was always a good friend and will be missed greatly. To quote him, "we'll catch up sometime." I hope so, Chad.

I was friends with Chad in high school. Here's my favorite memory of him. A group of us were at Stillwater bridge in Deerfield to go swimming. We were walking out onto the bridge wearing only our swim suits. As we got to the center of the bridge a cop car pulled up next to us. "What are you boys doing?" the cop asks. Chad replies "Fishing." The cop basically rolls his eyes at us and drives away. Then we jumped off the bridge.
