Shirl and Joe,
I hope you know how much Don meant to all of us and how much he will be missed. In a way it seems like we all grew up together and it won't be the same without him. So many good memories- family picnics and get-togethers and watching the kids grow up. All good times of which he was a huge part over the years. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and we hope you find peace knowing you did all you could for him during his final illness.
Love to you both...

Khalil Gibran Once quoted,
A friend who is far away is sometimes much nearer than one who is at hand.
Is not the mountain far more awe-inspiring and more clearly visible to one passing through the valley than to those who inhabit the mountain.
Don was such a friend, and my best friend!
As a Teen he steered me out of harms way and gave me direction.
He was a friend who one could cry with and laugh with.
I will miss my friend

I will miss Don, He was a very close friend for over 30 yrs. I think of him and Shirley often. I can not see a full moon without remembering the fun we had howling at the moon, the card games played, the trips we took together, and the funny stories that always seemed to include Don. He was a good man who seemed to always be there for me and others even though he didn't always feel good.
Shirley, know my heartfelt sympathies go out to you and Joey. Thank goodness we all have such fond memories of him and loved him!! Pat
