NORTHAMPTON - Eileen Dorothy Clifford, 87, of 48 Sterling Rd., passed away Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at Linda manor Extended Care facility.
Born in Northampton, July 1, 1925, Eileen was the daughter of the late John and Hannah (Tuohy) Clifford.
She was educated in local schools and was a 1943 graduate of the former St. Michael's High School. She later graduated in 1943 from the Mary A. Burnham School in 1944.
Eileen was a bookkeeper at Mass Electric, later at Smith College and Multicolor. She worked as a senior aide and interviewer for an employment agency.
She was a longtime Communicant of Annunciation Church in Florence.
She enjoyed line dancing, Ti Chi and exercise classes.
Eileen is survived by her brother Michael Clifford of Fairfax, Va.; her sister Madeline McCurry of Northampton; several nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers, John and Cornelius Clifford; her sister Katherine Claydon; and her nephews, Patrick Clifford and Gary Claydon.
Eileen's Funeral will be Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m. from the Ahearn Funeral Home, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at Annunciation Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 85 Beacon St., Florence, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Calling Hours will precede the Funeral from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
Donations in Eileen's memory may be made to Cooley Dickinson Hospital, 30 Locust St., Northampton, MA 01060.

I am sorry to read of Eileen's death. We worked together at Smith College in the early 50's and enjoyed talking together. I remember she had a vast wardrobe and wore a different outfit every day. She drove a big, classy car and always parked in the same spot in front of the church. Yes, I do remember her very well.
