Albina Pirog(1926-2013)

NORTHAMPTON - Albina (Drozdal) Pirog, 86, of Fair Street, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at the Hadley at Elaine Care and Rehab Center.
Born in Hadley, Feb. 27, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Drozdal. She graduated from Hopkins Academy.
During her life Albina worked for the former A&P Grocers, Clarke School for the Deaf, and was a longtime cook for Smith College Dining Services. She was an avid gardener, growing wonderful vegetables and flowers.
Albina was predeceased by her husband, Eugene, and her son Frank. She leaves her son Fred Pirog; her sisters Josephine and Nellie; and several nieces and nephews.
An in-house service will be held on Wednesday 9 a.m. at the Czelusniak Funeral Home of Northampton, followed by burial in Holy Rosary Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorials can be made to the Dakin Animal Shelter.
