HATFIELD - Anna M. (Burek-Majesky) Baceski, 94, of Hatfield, passed away peacefully Saturday, at Linda Manor Extended Care Facility in Leeds.
She was born Sep. 17, 1918 in Holyoke, to the late Frank and Mary (Martinez) Burek.
She had worked for Meyer & Mendelsohn Tobacco Co. in Hatfield for many years. She was a communicant of the former Holy Trinity Church in Hatfield and participated in the Council on Aging, also in Hatfield.
She enjoyed animals and was also fond of the ones that came to visit at the nursing home.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Baceski, who passed away May 22, 1991.
Anna is survived by her loving daughters, Phyllis Wilkes and her husband William and Dorothy Braman and her companion Hugh Massey all of North Hatfield; her grandchildren, Jeffrey Wilkes and his wife Meg of Wrentham, Donald Wilkes of North Andover, David Wilkes and his wife Nancy of Amherst, N.H. and Amy Braman and her fiancé Dan Frederick of Greenfield; her great-grandchildren, Michael Wilkes, Skylar Kirkland, Rachel Wilkes, Kyle Kirkland, Daniel Wilkes and Dmitry Wilkes; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her siblings, Edward and Walter Burek, Mary Janisieski, Bertha Armata and Adele Waltz.
The Funeral will be Thursday at 9 a.m. at the Drozdal Funeral Home in Northampton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Grace Church in Hatfield at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Hatfield. Calling hours will be Thursday morning from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
