WEST SPRINGFIELD - Diane Marie (Fountain) Favreau, 49, ascended into the Journey of everlasting life Nov. 18, 2012, at Baystate Medical Center.
Diane was born Dec. 5, 1962, in Springfield, the daughter of Ronald Fountain and Kathleen (Casey) LaFountain.
She graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a Degree in Criminal Justice. She worked at the Hampshire County Jail as a Corrections Officer for some time and also at CHD, Springfield.
She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and would travel to Mohegan with her Poppy, David, to meet Red Sox players.She enjoyed babysitting her Grandson, Cullen, and being a stay at home mom.
She is predeceased by her grandmothers and grandfathers, Charles and Ellen Casey and Lawrence and Charlotte Fountain, her uncle, Mark Fountain and her mother-in-Law, Pauline Most.
Diane is survived by her husband, William; her sons, Jason Kirk and his fiancé Nicole Clement of Holyoke, Matthew Kirk and his fiancé Kylie Oliver of West Springfield; her daughter, Gabrielle Favreau of West Springfield; two stepsons, Alex Favreau of the U.S. Navy and Nick Favreau of Alabama; her beloved grandson, Cullen Kirk; her mother, Kathleen and her husband, David LaFountain; her Father, Ronald Fountain and his wife Ruth; her grandmother, Carol Fountain; her fathers-in-law, Paul Favreau and Norman Stebbins; her sisters, Michele McBride and her husband Thomas, Susan Glidden and her partner Robert Joyce, Shelly LaFountain-Neumann and Anita Cooke; her brothers, Anthony Fountain and his wife Anne, David LaFountain, Jr. and his wife Michelle; brothers-in-law, Mark Glidden of Easthampton and John and Douglas Favreau both of Vermont; her sister-in-law, Judy Favreau of Palmer; her aunts, Phyllis O'Dell and Nina Fountain; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins, the Santaniellos and Federicis.
Diane's family will welcome relatives and friends on Wednesday, Nov. 28, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main St., Agawam, (413)786-2600.
Diane's funeral service will be held on Thursday, Nov. 29. Everyone is asked to assemble in the funeral home for 9:45 a.m. This will be followed by a procession to Mary Mother of Hope Catholic Church, 840 Page Blvd., Sringfield, for a Liturgy of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Diane will then be laid to rest in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam.
