Dorothy A. "Cookie" (Raymond) Wheeler

EASTHAMPTON - Dorothy A. "Cookie" (Raymond) Wheeler, 85, of Mechanic Street, Easthampton, passed away peacefully at the Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

She was born Dec. 30, 1927, in Easthampton, the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Sophie (Cenison) Raymond.

She was educated in the Easthampton schools.

She was employed for several years at the Loomis House in Holyoke, retiring in 1993 as the supervisor of the housekeeping department. Previously, Cookie was employed at the former Hilton in Northampton and the former Hampshire Care in Leeds.

She was a long time communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church, presently Our Lady of the Valley Parish in Easthampton. She was active with Council on Aging in Easthampton, particularly enjoying the trips to the Casino.
She leaves her loving brother and sisters, Earl Raymond of Florence, Ruth S. Patterson of Sacramento, Calif., and Shirley Malouin of Easthampton, and her many caring nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Our Lady of the Valley Parish, 33 Adams St., Easthampton, followed by burial in the Brookside Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 17 Clark St., Easthampton.
