Eunice Mary (Duffy) Watt(1928-2012)

HOLYOKE - Eunice Mary Duffy Watt, 84, passed away on Nov. 3, 2012, a loving mother, wife and friend. Her beautiful disposition will be missed by all.

She was born April 30, 1928, in Holyoke, Mass., the daughter of Hazel Aurelia Bagg and Bernard B. Duffy. She was a descendant of a Real Daughter of American Revolution, Eunice Smith Bagg.

Eunice was an active member of D.A.R. for over 25 years and treasurer for six years. She also made major contributions as a live member to the American Association of University Women and was a docent for the Naval Historical Museum.

Eunice graduated with a BS in biology from Salve Regina College in Rhode Island. She taught biology in Yokohama, Japan, and Damavand College in Tehran, Iran.

Eunice was the wife of Robert C. Watt (USN Retired Captain), to whom she was married for 62 years. She accompanied him and their five children for duties in Morocco, Japan and Iran and was thankful for all the contacts with these cultures. Eunice would often refer to herself as "Eunice of the Universe," which is fitting, as there were few countries in the world she had not visited.

Eunice is survived by her husband, Robert; their children, Craig and his wife Debbie Watt of Plymouth, Bruce and his wife Pam Watt of St. Augustine, Fla., Jean Watt Leonard of Austin, Texas, David and his wife Cathy Watt of Chula Vista, Calif., and his twin sister Jennifer Olson of South Berwick, Maine; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; her brother Bruce Duffy of Princeton, N.J.; and sister Barbara Lane of Middlebury, Vt.
