LEEDS - Hazel B. (Bonnello) Livingstone, 98, of River Road, Leeds, died April 8, 2013.
Born Oct. 13, 1914, in Providence, R.I., she was the daughter of William and Mabel (Brunt) Bonnello.
Her family moved to Florence when her father became employed as a master knitter in the silk stocking industry.
After graduating from Northampton High School, she attended Smith College where she studied music, focusing on the piano.
Her music career spanned 50 years as a music teacher, as the organist at Saint John's Episcopal Church, as the accompanist for the Northampton School System and for several local musicians.
She was actively involved with the church throughout her life in many ways, most notably as director of Christian education. She was especially proud to support her husband when in his retirement he became one of the first permanent deacons in the Episcopal Diocese of Western Massachusetts.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah L. Olander and her husband William P. of Florence; a grandson, William E. Olander and his wife Alyson M. of Bethseda, Md.; a granddaughter, Meredith Olander and her fiancé Theodore A. Duval of Florence; and a great-grandson,Caleb L. Olander of Bethesda, Md.
Her husband, Rev. Arthur M. (Mel) Livingstone died in 2001.
Memorial gifts may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church, 48 Elm St., Northampton, MA 01060.
A memorial service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church, with a reception to follow.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
