HATFIELD - Lillian (Kandsz) Skorupski, 86, of Bridge St., died peacefully surrounded by her family, Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, at the Overlook of Northampton.
Born Nov. 18, 1926, in Holyoke, she was the daughter of the late Jasper and Elizabeth (Smoor) Kandsz.
Lillian graduated from Deerfield High School and attended Northampton Commercial College. She worked for JJ Newberry's and Grossman's Lumber, in sales and as a cashier. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards, spending winters in Florida with her husband, tag sale-ing, snowmobiling, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lillian was predeceased by her husband Henry "Chicup" in 2006, and her sister Shirley Basara.
She leaves her sons Henry "Sonny" Skorupski and his wife Arlene of Hatfield, William Skorupski and wife Shirley of Hatfield; daughter Carol and her husband John Zalesky of Florida; her sister–in-law Sophie; five grandchildren, Brian Skorupski, Tom Michal, Ron Dutra, Lisa McManus, and Billy Skorupski; four great-grandchildren, Lillian and Erika Michal and Sean and Kyle McManus; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held Monday, Aug. 19, at 9 a.m., at Our Lady of Grace Church in Hatfield. Burial followed at Calvary Cemetery.
Calling hours were held Sunday, Aug. 18, at 2 to 5 p.m. at the Czelusniak Funeral Home of Northampton.
