Belchertown - Michael Wayne Austin Sr., 56, died peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012.
Born in Townshend, Vt., he was the son of Marion DelGiudice of Greer, S.C., and the late Glenn Austin Sr. Michael lived in a variety of areas throughout his life and had settled in Belchertown 14 years ago. He worked for Superior Carriers in Springfield for 20 years and served as its Eastern Regional fleet manager.
In his leisure, he enjoyed NASCAR, trips to Florida, as well as to the woods of New Hampshire and Vermont. Additionally, he was a Patriots and Red Sox fan.
Besides his mother, he will be deeply missed by his wife, Linda (Baillie), and two sons, Michael Jr. and Erik, both of Belchertown. He also leaves his twin brother, Mitchell (Linda) of Bristol, Conn.; two sisters, Glenda Baldissero of Bridgeton, N.J., and Lori Bunton (Marion) of Acworth, Ga. He also leaves two half-brothers, Glenn R. (Joan) of Somersworth, N.H., and Jeffrey (Leah) of Brookline, Vt., along with many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, Jan. 2, from 4 to 7 p.m., and Thursday from 10 to11 a.m. at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home, 10 Maple St., (Route 202).
