Paul Frank Papaluca

LONGMEADOW – Paul Frank Papaluca, 70, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away unexpectedly Feb. 25, 2013, at Baystate Medical Center.

He was born in Boston to the late Vincent J. Papaluca and Anna R. (Shiroky) Papaluca, and is also predeceased by his older brother, James V. Papaluca of Boston.

He was a 1960 graduate of Somerville High School in Somerville. After graduating, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam war and was trained as a Russian language interpreter.

He went on to further his education, graduating from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1969 with a bachelor's in business. At UMass, he was one of the founding fathers of BX fraternity, a fraternity for veterans, and he continued to have annual reunions with multiple members of his fraternity.

Paul was employed as an insurance agent from 1969 to 1999 at New England Life and later Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co. He continued his working career as a real estate agent for Coldwell Banker until he passed away.

He was a former member of UNICO.

He leaves his loving wife of 39 years, Donna (Barabe) Papaluca; his son, Matthew Papaluca of Amherst; his daughter, Jessica Kamauff and her husband, Daniel, of Longmeadow; his two grandchildren, Lucas and Aiden Kamauff; and the rest of his extended family.

A memorial service for Paul will be held in the spring.
