EASTHAMPTON - Priscilla Hatch, 89, passed away peacefully with family on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012.
Priscilla was born May 30, 1923, to her loving parents Henry and Almina Seymour.
She worked for 22 years as the parish secretary for the former Immaculate Conception Church in Easthampton, and was a communicant of Our Lady of The Valley Church. Priscilla also worked in the chemical department at Stanley Home Products where she met her future husband, B. Edward Hatch, whom she married on July 11, 1949. They built their own home and raised four children in Easthampton. Ed passed in 2008.
Priscilla was an accomplished seamstress, homemaker and mother, who was devoted to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Priscilla loved cooking and baking with her grandchildren, vacationing at Hampton Beach, N.H., and thoroughly enjoyed family gatherings. She enjoyed walking for exercise, finding lost coins, word searches and crossword puzzles.
She leaves her son, Robert and his wife, Suzanne of Boxborough; daughters, Marie Equi of Easthampton, Cynthia Hebert of Amherst, Claudia Natale and her husband James of Florence; her brother, Albert Seymour and his wife Ann of South Deerfield.
She will be truly missed by her grandchildren, Jessica, Megan and Emily Hatch, James Equi, Steven Equi and his wif,e Stacia Reinhardt, Andrew Labrecque, Eric Labrecque and his wife Pamela, James Natale and his wife Mieke, Matthew Natale and his wife Nicole, Bethany (Natale) Tumal and her husband Chris and Katherine, Zachary and Michael Natale, as well as great-grandchildren, Dana, Logan, Alexandra, Jimmy, Maxwell, Katie Grace, Kyle, Jordan, Matt, Jr., Tommy and Courtney.
Priscilla was predeceased by her first husband, Frank Zilka who died in 1947; her sister, Doris Prusak; and brothers, Henry and Leonard.
The family gratefully extends thanks to the compassionate staff at Linda Manor who cared for her these last few months.
The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15 at the Boucher-O'Brien Funeral Home, 7 Pleasant St., Easthampton, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. celebrated at Our Lady of The Valley Church, 33 Adams St. Interment will follow in the family lot in St. Brigid Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14.
