FLORENCE - Robert C. Gagne Sr., 43, of Florence, passed away peacefully Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, with his family by his side at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston after a brief illness.
He was born Jan. 13, 1969, in Plymouth, to Albert and the late Ruth (Craig) Gagne.
Bob was educated in Northampton schools and graduated from Smith Vocational High School. He was employed by the Coca-Cola Co. for numerous years before starting his own landscaping business known as B&B Landscaping.
He loved taking his son Bobby Jr. to UMass hockey and basketball games over the years. Bob enjoyed spending time with his friends at Saratoga Race Track and the Three County Fairgrounds, appreciated a good game of horseshoes, and was also an avid Red Sox fan. Bob was a loving, caring and kind person who would do anything for anyone and will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends.
Besides his father, Albert, of Englewood, Fla., he leaves his wife of 11 years, Bobbi Jo Wood of Florence; his son, Robert C. Gagne Jr. of Hatfield; his brother Chad and his wife, Christine Gagne, of Easthampton; his sisters Terry Novotny of Easthampton, and Debra Pretti and her companion, Garth Blake, of Plympton; his stepchildren Ashley, Jenna, Zachary Elliott and Madison Ryan; and his step-grandchild, Cory Elliott. He also leaves several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, and his beloved dog Lucy. Bob was predeceased by his loving mother, Ruthie.
A funeral service will held Thursday morning at 10 at the Drozdal Funeral Home, Northampton. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
