HUNTINGTON – Theresa (Lesieur) Tacke, 77, passed away Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, with her loving family by her side.
Born June 14, 1936, in Chicopee, she was the daughter of the late Raymond A. Lesieur and Viola (Bushey) Lesieur. She lived most of her life in Huntington.
She was a graduate of Huntington High School and also graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing and she went on to become a registered nurse at Mercy Hospital. She was a communicant of the former St. Thomas Church in Huntington.
Theresa leaves her beloved husband of 55 years, Hubert H. Tacke; two sons, Herb Tacke and his wife Gina of Huntington, and Andrew J. Tacke and his wife Carla of Huntington; a daughter Laurie Madru and her husband Matthew of Becket; six grandchildren, Katrina Jones, Natalie, Ryan and Ashley Tacke, and Amanda and Lindsay Madru; and two great-grandchildren, Logan and Lucas Jones.
She was predeceased by her brother Raymond J. Lesieur.
Her greatest joy was caring for her family. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of her own backyard, feeding the birds (the cardinals were her favorite), watching the wildlife, and sitting in her swing with her little dog, Toby.
There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held Friday, Feb. 28, 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Westfield. Burial will be in the spring in St. Thomas Cemetery in Huntington.
