NORTHAMPTON - Thomas C. Foley, 57, of Ice Pond Drive, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born March 2, 1955, in Northampton, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary (Crosby) Foley.
He graduated from St. Michael's High School in 1974 and from St. Anselm College in 1979 with a bachelors degree in criminal justice.
In 1980, Tom was appointed a probation officer in the Northampton District Court and was promoted to chief probation officer in 2004. Tom was very committed to his community and supported various organizations over the years.
Tom leaves his wife of 31 years, Nancy (Squires) Foley; his son Kevin Foley of New York, N.Y.; his daughter Jill Foley of Brighton; sisters, Peg Pitzer of Northampton and Maureen Foley of Cambridge and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Czelusniak Funeral Home of Northampton followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish on King Street in Northampton. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m.
