Paul Hogan Obituary

Paul E. Hogan, 69, of Plainfield passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on November 21 after a long period of declining health. Born in Medford, MA. February 21.1949 to the late Edward J. and Margaret A. (Spillane) Hogan. He grew up in Medford and graduated from Medford Technical High School in the printing program. Paul was an apprentice with the Boston Globe when he was drafted into the U>S>Army during the Vietnam War Era. Upon discharge from the army he was employed for over 30 years at the Boston Globe as a Pressman. After retirement from the Boston Globe, he moved to western Mass and has lived in Plainfield for the last 16 years. He served as Post Commander of the Medford VFW Post 45 from 1974 to 1975.

Paul was an avid Boston sports fan faithfully following the Red Sox, Patriots and Bruins. In his younger years he played and coached ice hockey. Paul is survived by his wife , Ruth Osgood of Plainfield. He is also survived by two brothers and a sister, two daughters and two granddaughters all of the Medford area.

There will be a graveside service at the Plainfield Hilltop Cemetery on North Central Street in the spring. Remembrance contributions may be made to the PVFA (Plainfield Fire Association) c/o Andy Stevens, 815 West Main Street, Plainfield, MA. 01070. The Wrisley Funeral Home , South Deerfield, has been entrusted with arrangements.
