SOUTHAMPTON – Aurele "AL" Racicot, 85, of Southampton, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at home.

He was born Jan. 11, 1928, in Chicopee, to Albert and Evon (Lapoint) Racicot, and lived in Southampton for over 50 years.
He was the widower of Jeanette (Paquette) Racicot who died Sept. 9, 2000.
Al retired from Mt. Holyoke College where he worked in the refrigeration department. He was the owner of the former Al Racicot Refrigeration, and was a truck driver for M&M Trucking. He also worked part time in the roads and grounds department at Westover Air Force Base.
Al was a member of Ionic Lodge AF&AM, the Scottish Rite Bodies and Melha Temple Shrine. He was also a past governor and a member of the Loyal Order of Moose #1255.
Al leaves several cousins in the United States and Canada, and many close friends.
The funeral will be Saturday, Aug. 17, at 9:30 a.m., at Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad St., Westfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Westfield, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery in South Hadley.
Calling hours will precede the service from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
