GREENFIELD – James A. Wesolowski, 76, of Sanderson Street in Greenfield passed away on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

Jim was born in Northampton on Sept. 13, 1937, the son of the late Bernard and Mary (Spinelli) Wesolowski. He lived in Hatfield briefly before moving with his family to Northampton. He attended Northampton schools and graduated from St. Michael's high School as the President of his class. He served in the US Army after graduation. Jim attended the Hampden School of Pharmacy in Chicopee, graduating with a degree in Pharmacology. He served his internship with Joyce's Pleasant Pharmacy in Northampton and later worked as a Pharmacist there and also at the former Adams Pharmacy. Jim worked for Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield as a Pharmacist for over 30 years prior to his retirement.

Jim loved reading, movies, all sports and current events. He was a meticulous and opinionated person, very generous and caring. Jim was always available to help. He enjoyed horse racing and owned several race horses, including Crackers & Pops and Lucky. Jim raced Crackers & Pops at the former Three County Races and in Great Barrington. Crackers and Pops placed First at the Great Barrington Races. Jim was a familiar site on the racing circuit throughout New England.

He leaves his dear sister, Theresa Wesolowski of Northampton who loved and admired him. He also leaves many cousins and dear friends throughout the area.

The family invites you to join them on Wednesday morning, Nov. 13, 2013 promptly at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Cemetery in Northampton for the Rite of Christian burial with military honors for Jim. There will be a light luncheon immediately following at the Florentine Room at the Bluebonnet Diner.

In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Three County Fair Horse Racing Museum, c/o Sandra Stanisiewski, P.O. Box 305, Northampton, Mass., 01060.
