HOLYOKE - Joseph Arthur Healy "known as Art to friends and family",89, of Holyoke, formerly of Chatham, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2013 at the Holyoke Soldiers Home.

He was born in Westport and was a decorated Navy Veteran of World War II. Joe was a retired 30 year truck driver and an accomplished artist. He will be remembered for his good heartedness, great sense of humor, bright smile and his love of children and animals. Art also enjoyed painting signs for local businesses and going to the fish pier each morning. He will be missed by all.
Joe is survived by his children, Judith Jacobs of Florida, Candice Mullen and Tanya Mailman, both of Maine, Milton Healy of Chatham, and Michele Zach and her husband Ronald of Easthampton; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one sister, Helen May Milley of Chatham.
He was predeceased by his children, Joseph II, Sandra Muldoon, David, James, and Michael.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 569 Main Street, Chatham, MA. Burial will follow at Seaside Cemetery in Chatham. The Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke is handling the arrangements.
