FLORENCE - Patrick Gerard Brennan, 56, died peacefully April 8, 2013, at Calvin Coolidge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Florence, surrounded by loved ones.

Patrick was born April 18, 1956, at Cooley Dickinson Hospital. He was raised in Northampton and attended Northampton public schools.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served with distinction in Vietnam.
He was employed over several years as a sexton at St. Mary's Church and First Churches, both in Northampton, and as a maintenance worker at New England Bowl, also in Northampton.
Patrick was a member of American Legion Post 28 in Florence. He prized loyalty and was devoted to his friends, pets and family.
He is survived by his partner, Joanne M. Graves, and their dogs, Buddy and Mr. Snoops. His family of friends included Denise Karuth and Fred Pelka, John and Sue Norton and Betsy Smith, all of Florence; Mark Majeski of Easthampton; Linnaea Stockall of London, England; and Susan Rybek of Luanda, Angola. He is also survived by his sister, Maureen (Brennan) Liebl of Chesterfield; his brother, Michael Brennan of Colorado; and his step-mother, Gloria Brennan of Northampton.
He was predeceased by his mother, Ione Jane (Cleary) Brennan; his father, Eugene Gerard Brennan and his wife Diane Brennan.
A celebration of his life and potluck will be held at American Legion Post 28 on 63 Riverside Dr., Florence, Friday, April 12, 2013, from 12 to 3 p.m. Please bring food and memories to share.
Internment will take place at a later date.
