HADLEY - Paul A. Corbeil, 85, of 63 Aqua Vitae Road, passed away Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at Heritage Hall South in Agawam, with his family by his side.

Born Sept. 6, 1928, in Holyoke, Paul was the son of the late Alfred and Albina (Brunault) Corbeil. Paul grew up working in the family business, the former White Restaurant in Holyoke.
A Korean War veteran, Paul served in the U.S. Army as a mechanic. After returning, he worked in masonry, auto and small engine repair. Paul later owned and operated Paul's Marina in Hadley for over 45 years.
He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Northampton. He was a longtime member and past commander of the American Legion Post 271 in Hadley. Paul served as chaplain for American Legion District 2 and was also a member of the 40/8 Veterans Organization. He recently served as the Veteran's Agent for the Town of Hadley and was an active volunteer at the Holyoke Soldiers Home.
Throughout his life he enjoyed boating, fishing and camping with his family and friends. Paul always found the time for others, helping with repairs of any kind or simply lending a hand. He will be especially missed by his three grandchildren who enjoyed spending time at the river with their Pepere.
Paul leaves his wife of 55 years Yvonne (Charbonneau) Corbeil; his three daughters, Suzanne Waskiewicz and her husband David of Hadley, Joanne Harper and her husband Scott of Easthampton, and Paula Orrell and her husband Donald of Shutesbury; his three grandchildren, Matthew Waskiewicz, and Jessica and Saige Harper; his brother Eugene; sister-in-law Rita Valenti; and many nieces and nephews.
Paul was predeceased by his brother Roger and his wife Agnes, his sister Cecile Elmore and her husband Burrell, his sister-in-law Rose and his brother-in-law Joseph Valenti.
Paul's funeral will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from the Ahearn Funeral home, 783 Bridge Road, Northampton, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish Church, 99 King St., Northampton. Burial with military honors will follow in the Olde Hadley Cemetery.
Calling hours are Friday from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
