EASTHAMPTON - Sophia Columba Corbin, 25, of Easthampton, passed away Monday, Oct. 7, 2013.
Born Aug. 8, 1988, in Fairfax, Va., to Jennifer (Warren) Corbin and William Corbin, Sophie and her mother moved to the Northampton area in August 2003.
A gifted singer and musician, she graduated from the Pioneer Valley Performing Arts Charter School where she was a member of the a Capella group, "Five Alone".
Her heart was as big as the sky and she could light up the world with her smile, her laughter, her humor and her great love. She sang like a meadowlark, she laughed out loud until everyone laughed with her, and she loved her family dearly.
Sophie will be terribly missed by her mother Jennifer Corbin of Easthampton; her aunt Abby Dolinger and uncle Ira Rubenzahl of Northampton; her uncle Kenny and uncle Mark and aunt Chris Warren of Manassas, Va.; her cousin Jacob Dolinger and Elizabeth Dolinger; her beloved Emeline of Bernardston; her cousins Deirdre, Zachary, Ashleigh, Jessica, Johannah, Daniel and Dalton Warren, cousin Jenny Rubenzahl of Brooklyn, N.Y., cousins Stephanie and Rob Schenkel of Hartford, Conn.; and many, many more cousins. She also left behind her dear friends Erica, Dustin, Alex, Eden, Sammy, Mike and many others.
A memorial Catholic Mass will be held Saturday, Oct. 12, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Of The Valley Church, 33 Adams St., Easthampton. A wake will follow the service at Abby and Ira's.
