HUNTINGTON - Susan (Fairman) Liimatainen, 52, of Cullen Hill Road, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at home.

Born Sept. 12, 1961, in Northampton, she was the daughter of Dick Fairman of Worthington, and Barbara (Barnes) Hess of Southwick. She lived in Worthington for many years, educated in local schools, attending Gateway Regional High School and graduating in 1979 from Southwick High School.

She became a police officer at a young age, working for the towns of Worthington, Hinsdale and Cummington. Susan has been working for FedEx in Hatfield, since 2003. She loved her job as a currier and making friends with her co-workers and customers.

She loved to bake cookies for the town department of public works in case she ever needed help getting out in the winter. As a side job, Susan owned her own business, Carousel Cleaning, making sure her clients' homes were as immaculate as her own. Susan was an outgoing person and happy person. She enjoyed playing softball, quilting, bargain hunting and watching her two boys play ball. She loved spending time with her family especially her four grandsons. Susan never missed a chance for a good trip, whether it was a cruise or a horseback ride at a dude ranch.

Besides her parents, Susan is survived by her step-mother Pat Fairman; her two sons, Eric Liimatainen and his wife Jessica of Hatfield, and David Liimatainen and his wife Brenda of Williamsburg; his sisters Pamela Fairman of Culver City, Fla., Dawn Bisbee and her husband Donald of Chesterfield, Judi Bongiovanni and her husband Dante of Westfield, and Lynn Garland and her husband Pete of Chester; her brother Rick Fairman and his wife Sandy of Brandenburg, Ky.; her partner Stuart McCreedy and his three children; her best friend Patti Bush of Westfield; Eric and David's dad Wayne Liimatainen of Hatfield; her step-brother Don Dwarska of Springfield; her step-sisters Kim Stolecki of Westfield, and Kelly Waring of Swansea; her loving grandsons Alex, Myles, Corbin and Levi; and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Susan's funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Ahearn Funeral Home, 783 Bridge Road, Northampton. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 to 11 a.m.
