HADLEY-Alexander Zaskey, 93, of Stockbridge Road, passed away on Saturday evening at the Center for Extended Care in Amherst. He was born in Hadley on May 4, 1919 and was the son of the late William and Bronislawa (Sokoloski) Zaskey.

Al was a lifelong Hadley resident, attending local schools and graduating from Hopkins Academy. Along with his late wife, Adeline, he was the owner of Zaskey Farm in Hadley. He raised tobacco, potatoes, squash and other various vegetables on the Zaskey Farm. Alexander also worked for the University of Massachusetts at Amherst as a groundskeeper for 20 years.

He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Adeline (Kielbowicz) Zaskey in 2010 and his son Alexander Zaskey Jr in 2004. His brothers, Roman and Frank Zaskey and sister, Jennie Sarna also predeceased him.

Alexander leaves his two daughters; Carol and Joan Zaskey; his grandchildren, Stephen, Michael and Matthew; and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves a sister-in-law Virginia Kielbowicz and a daughter-in-law Regina Zaskey.

Calling hours at the Czelusniak Funeral Home of Northampton will be on Tuesday afternoon from 4 to 7 pm. Funeral services will be on Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. from the Czelusniak Funeral Home of Northampton followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 am. at the Most Holy Redeemer Church, Hadley, and burial at Holy Rosary Cemetery.
