HATFIELD -- Anthony J. Farrick Jr., 87, of Hatfield, known to family and friends as "Sonny" passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018,  at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, following a short illness.

He was born in Whately, January 18, 1931. He was the son of Anthony and Lena (Brozo) Farrick. He attended Whately schools and was formerly employed as a foundryman by the Haydenville Brass Works and Montague Machine Co. in Turners Falls. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the Air Force.

His interests were flea markets and tag sales, following local and televised sports and he was an avid reader.

Anthony is survived by a son, Anthony J. Farrick III of Greenfield; two daughters: MaryAnne Bauer (and husband Thomas Bauer) and Alene M. Dodge, both of Gill; two sisters: Barbara Goodhind of Shutesbury and Nancy Feldman of Hadley; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews including Maria Petit of Hatfield, whom he was very close to. He will be fondly remembered by his many friends at Capawonk in Hatfield.

He was preceded in death by his former wife Alice Farrick; two sisters: Natalie Sarsynski and Cecelia "Sally" Carl.

Calling hours will be held Friday, June 15, from 9-11 a.m. at Wrisley Funeral Home, 90 Sugarloaf St. S. Deerfield, Ma. A memorial service will follow calling hours at the same location. Father Robert M. Koerber, Pastor of Holy Name of Jesus Church, will officiate. Burial will be private at Mass. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St. Agawam.
