Carl and I worked together on a few Ortho Books in the 1950s and '60s while he was in the Insectory at UC Berkeley. I always admired him and enjoyed working with him. I just accidentally ran across his obit while looking-up old collegues who worked for Ortho Books. I'm sure Carl will be missed by all who knew him!

When Carl's daughter, Leslie, married my step-son Michael Raker, I learned the my father, Dr. Edward A. Knowlton attended at the birth of Carl in 1932 in Holyoke, MA. A nice connection! I've enjoyed getting to know Carl, a very fine man and father.
