A 1969 graduate of W.H.S, Dianne was an at-home mom for many years before working as a CNA for the former Buckley Nursing Home in Holyoke.
She attended two years of schooling at H.C.C. and was employed by Mass Surgical Supply before returning to caring for the elderly with Home Health Solutions of Holyoke until her first diagnosis of cancer in 2005.
Dianne was best known for her amazing culinary skills. She had the ability to cook, bake and do most anything, and was always trying new recipes. Every year she looked forward to planting her flowers around the house and was especially thrilled to have finally gotten her Dogwood tree for her last Mother's Day. This tree was planted right in her front yard where she could enjoy it most.
Knitting and crocheting was also a hobby of hers, and we all have the scarves to prove it! She loved the outdoors, the sun, the beach and Autumn was her favorite season and she also loved feeding her wild birds. Dianne loved to take walks, which included her dog and great companion, Sadie.
Dianne's family would like to give a special thank you to Michael and Gail McCardle, friends and neighbors that had become family many years ago. Thank you for being a constant for us all. We also need to give a thank you to Suzanne Picard, our hospice nurse, she was an amazing support, as well as the staff of Holyoke VNA Hospice Life Care.
Services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 26, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Firtion Adams Funeral Home, Broad St., Westfield, with a short service Thursday morning at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home and burial immediately following at St. Mary's Cemetery on Southampton Road, Westfield.
