NORTHAMPTON - Dorothy Irene "Dottie" (Pearce) Wiggins, 96, a resident of Calvin Coolidge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Northampton, and formerly of Palm Boulevard, Warwick, R.I., passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012.

She was the wife of the late James Alfred Wiggins.

Born Dec. 8, 1916, in Johnston, R.I., a daughter of the late Dewit C. and Roseanne (O'Reilly) Pearce, she was a Warwick, R.I. resident for 20 years before moving to Northampton 13 years ago.

Dorothy retired from Roger Williams General Hospital as a central supply technician.

She was very artistic and enjoyed drawing and designing crafts for family and friends. Dorothy loved her family and delighted in her July 4th celebrations.

She touched the lives of all that she came in contact with, and was known for her caring and compassionate ways.

She is survived by three sons, Dennis A. Wiggins and his wife Ann, Donald A. Wiggins and his wife Linda, and David P. Wiggins and his wife Darlene, all of Warwick, R.I.; a daughter Sherril A. Polito and her husband Joseph of Easthampton; a niece Alice Cashill of Barrington, R.I.; a son-in-law Matthew Wojciechowski of Providence, R.I.; numerous grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was the mother of the late Charlene A. Wojciechowski, and the sister of the late Margaret "Marge" Williams.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at 10 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Ave., Spring Green, Warwick, RI, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. William Church, Pettaconsett Avenue, Warwick, R.I. Relatives and friends are invited, and may visit at the funeral home on Friday from 9 to 10 a.m.

Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket, R.I.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Calvin Coolidge Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
