HAYDENVILLE - Ernest "Ernie" W. Pelkey, 47, of Haydenville, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, with his family by his side at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

He was born Jan. 24, 1965, in Northampton, and is the son of Jeremiah and the late Roberta (Jackson) Pelkey.

Ernie graduated from Dean Vocational Technical High School, he grew up and remained in Haydenville where he enjoyed his animals, cruising on his motorcycle and snowmobiling. He was a lifelong member of the Moose Lodge.
Ernie had worked as a sprinkler fitter for over 25 years with Warehouse Mechanical of Chicopee.

Besides his father, Jeremiah of Haydenville, he is survived by his two brothers, Jerry and his wife Tina of Chicopee, and Richard of Northampton; his two sisters, June Gaitenby and her husband David, and Rachel Pelkey all of Haydenville; his niece, Angela Gaitenby of Haydenville; and a nephew, Noah Pelkey of Chicopee; and also his good friends, John and Sherry Marcyoniak of Southampton.

He was predeceased by his mother Roberta.

The Funeral will be Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at 9 a.m. at the Drozdal Funeral Home in Northampton, with a service to begin at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at East Leverett Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday, Dec. 9, from 4 to 6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ernie's memory to the , 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
