Northampton - Florence Bond, 90, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2014, in Waltham. She was predeceased by her husband Maurice Bond in 2005.

Florence is survived by her son Howard Bond, her daughter Judith Bond Pogany and her husband Dr. Eugene Pogany, her grandchildren Jessica, Noah, Mina and Isaac Bond and Elias and Benjamin Pogany, and her sister Janice Adler and her husband Burton.
She was born April 18, 1924 in Boston and raised in Dorchester Florence moved to Northampton in 1947. For twenty years, she was an administrative assistant in the office at the Smith College Campus School. Florence was an active member of Congregation B'nai Israel, where she was a past president of its sisterhood. She was also a past president of Hadassah and a member of the League of Women Voters. Florence was full of life and took a lot of joy from her family and friends. She had a genuine interest in others and their stories. Florence was very connected to the community of Northampton, dedicated to Jewish life, and devoted to her family.
Florence's funeral was Sunday June 15, at Congregation B'nai Israel with burial in B'nai Israel Cemetery. Shiva services will be Monday and Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Howard Bond, 25 Forbes Ave., Northampton. For further information or directions, please visit ascherzimmerman.com.
