EASTHAMPTON - Helen Mills, 88, of Easthampton, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at Calvin Coolidge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Northampton.

She was born Aug. 15, 1924, in Southampton, the daughter of the late Stephen and Katherine Rogowska Derwiecki.
She attended Southampton Schools and graduated from Easthampton High School.
Helen was a long-time communicant of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish and the Holy Rosary Sodality of the church, taught CCD classes and was a co-chairman of the church's Annual Polish picnic. Helen was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Church in Easthampton.
Helen retired as Executive Secretary for Savage Arms in Westfield.
She is survived by two sons, Larry Mills of Queens, N.Y. and Franklin Wesley Mills of Venice, Calif.; one brother Edward Derwiecki of Easthampton; two sisters, Dorothy Florek of Easthampton and Adelia Derwiecki of Southampton; two grandchildren, Carly and Nigel Mills; and nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Thursday, Nov. 15 at 9 a.m. in Mitchell Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Easthampton, with the Holy Rosary Sodality reciting the Rosary at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Valley Church, Easthampton. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Easthampton.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the Rosary.
