SOUTHAMPTON – Lucien O. Laprade, 94, formerly of Easthampton and Florida, passed away on June 10, 2018, at Care One at Northampton surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Easthampton and was the son of the late Ernest and Delvina (Ducharme) Laprade.

Lucien had worked for 34 years as the tax collector for the Town of Easthampton and retired in 1990. He had served on the board of directors for the former Easthampton Co-Op Bank and was a WW II Veteran serving with the United States Navy.

He leaves his wife of 72 years Margaret (Laflam) Laprade, his daughter Donna Shepard of Southampton, his son-in-law William Frazier of Maryland, his grandchildren William and Nicholas Frazier, Sarah Magee and her husband Tim, Margaret Orszulak and her husband Steve and also his great grandchildren Jackson and Molly Magee and Hannah Orszulak.

Besides his parents he is predeceased by his daughter Susan Frazier, his son-in-law Kevin Shepard and 6 brothers and 3 sisters.

Burial with Military Honors will be announced at a later date at the Massachusetts Veterans Cemetery in Agawam.

The family would like to thank the staff at Care One at Northampton for their kind and compassionate care.
