HADLEY - Margaret A. (O'Brien) Quirk, formerly of Northampton, passed away Wednesday at Hadley at Elaine.

Born April 12, 1923, in Northampton, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Helen (Larkin) O'Brien.
Margaret was educated in local schools and was a 1942 graduate of the former St. Michael's High School.
She worked as a retail clerk for the former F.W. Woolworth's, Todd's and Price Chopper, retiring in 1985.
Margaret was a longtime communicant of the former St. Mary's Church in Northampton. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and the Mr. and Mrs. Club at St. Michael's. She enjoyed bowling and in her later years, line dancing. Margaret also loved her trips to Ireland.
Her husband, Joseph A. Quirk passed away in 1988.
She is survived by her son, Richard A. Quirk of South Yarmouth and Florida, her daughter, Helen M. Vassallo of Amherst and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Thomas J. O'Brien and her son-in-law, Angelo Vassallo.
Margaret's Funeral will be Friday morning at 10:30 a.m. from the Ahearn Funeral Home, 783 Bridge Rd., Northampton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Most Holy Redeemer Church in Hadley at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. A Calling Hour will precede the Funeral Friday from 9:30 a.m.to 10:30 a.m.
