She was born April 30, 1971, in Northampton. She is the daughter of Edd and Judy (Ducharme) Passa of Florence.
She grew up in Hatfield, graduating from Smith Academy. Meridith is a graduate of UMass Amherst and Holyoke Community College where she attained her nursing degree.
Meridith worked at the Hampden County Sheriff's Office. She was devoted to her work, a very compassionate, dedicated nurse, with an all consuming passion for excellence in everything she did.
Growing up she enjoyed playing ice hockey on the boys team in Northampton. She was an avid skater and kayaker. She enjoyed fishing and spending time on the Cape Cod National Sea Shore at Race Point with her husband and family.
She enjoyed ice fishing and hiking with her husband Chris.
She loved fishing at Race Point, Provincetown, Cape Cod, with her husband Chris. She and Chris had meet at Race Point and later married on the beach. She had tremendous love and devotion for her pets. Meridith was a wonderful loving wife, daughter, sister and aunt.
Meridith is survived by her husband Chris Grammaticas; her parents; her brother Mark E. Passa and her niece Sagan Marie Passa of Florence; her aunts and uncles Joe and Val Koncas, Cynthia and Pete Nikonczyk, Martha and Alan Gulbine; and cousin Briana Bernabucci and spouse Joseph and their daughter Sophia.
The funeral for Meridith will be held Tuesday at 8:45 a.m. from the Ryder Funeral Home followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, followed with her burial in Notre Dame Cemetery, all in South Hadley.
Calling hours for Meridith will be held Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
