FLORENCE - Paula Jean Mott, 51, of Sterling Road, Florence, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 16, 2013, at her home, surrounded by her loving family after a 12 year battle with cancer.

Paula was born Feb. 6, 1962, in Northampton, the daughter of Earl W. Raymond, Sr., of Florence, and the late Angie (Labato) Raymond.

She grew up in the Baystate section of Northampton, attending local schools and graduated from Northampton High School.

Paula worked in the food service department at the V.A. Medical Center for over 25 years.

She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish family in Northampton. She was an avid supporter and gave her time for the annual Relay for Life held at Look Park every year.

She cherished her husband and children most of all. Paula loved going to the beach, camping, fishing and hiking with her family. Paula loved to garden and had beautiful perennial gardens. She volunteered at Leeds School. She enjoyed her trips to New York City and seafood festivals with her sisters. She was an avid Red Sox, New England Patriots and Bon Jovi fan.

Paula leaves her loving family, her husband Gregory Mott of 21 years; her beloved children Gregory Anton and Michelle Angelina Mott; her father Earl W. Raymond, Sr., of Florence; her siblings Sophie Gaynor of Florence, Earl W. Raymond, Jr., Terri Leary and her husband Ray, Linda Barayon and her husband Pete and Julie Thomas and her husband Ron, all of Easthampton; her aunt and godmother Theresa Labato of Northampton; as well as several other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by her many in-laws, friends and co-workers as well.

Calling hours at the Czelusniak Funeral Home of Northampton will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m.

The family invites you to join them Thursday at 9 a.m at the Czelusniak Funeral Home followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, Elm Street, Northampton, to celebrate the Liturgy of Christian burial for Paula. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
