NORTHAMPTON - Ronald Joseph Dawson, 58, of 58 Market St., passed away Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at home.

Born March 14, 1954, in Holyoke, Ron was the son of the late Ernest and Beverly Dawson.

He was educated in local schools and was a 1972 graduate of Northampton High School. While in high school Ron played football, basketball, baseball and lacrosse.

He was an arborist for Asplundh Tree Service for many years in New Hampshire, Vermont and Massachusetts. Ron enjoyed sports, the woods, nature, skydiving and chair caning.

He is survived by his children, Rebecca Burgos and her husband Rick and their daughter Robyn of Longwood, Fla., RJ Dawson and his wife Jessica and their daughters Avery and Dylan of Boca Raton, Fla., and Jeffrey Dawson and his partner Vanessa Keiller and their children Ainsley and Josiah of Northampton, his siblings, Donna Lynde of Chesterfield, Tom Dawson-Greene of Chesterfield, Barbara Sylvester of South Deerfield, Carl Dawson of Florence and James Dawson of Chesterfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Ron's Funeral will be Monday at 4 p.m. at the Ahearn Funeral Home, 783 Bridge Road, Northampton. Burial will be in the spring. Calling Hours will precede the Funeral Monday from 1 to 4 p.m.
