EASTHAMPTON - Ronald W. Boisjolie, 56, died March 31, 2013, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, after battling cancer with strength and courage.

He was born in Holyoke on August 4, 1956 and is the son of William and Theresa (Jacques) Boisjolie. He was educated in the South Hadley School system and graduated from South Hadley High School.

He and his wife resided in Easthampton for 31 years where he coached his children's soccer, basketball and baseball teams.

Ron worked for Kodak in Holyoke for 25 years before starting his own business in 2001. Being the Owner and CEO of Industrial Handling Systems, Inc. in Westfield was his true passion. Ron had the chance to live his dream last August when he bought and raced his #3 SK light modified car in Stafford Springs, Conn., placing ninth in the fall final. He was also an avid hunter.
Ron believed in sending your loved ones roses and holding hands every chance you get. His presence in our life is a gift we will always be thankful for.

Besides his parents, he is survived and will be sadly missed by his "Bride" of 31 years, Sharon A. (Fournier) Boisjolie; their three children, Rachel Szlachetka and her husband and Ron's beloved son-in-law, Eric of Chicopee, Justine and Geoffrey of Easthampton; along with siblings, Janet Hughes, Debra Eckert and Raymond; several nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Jean Fournier; and sisters-in-law, Linda Zwirko and his "Aunti" Carol Jasinski. His best friend Jay and IHS family along with Bella, their runaway cat that found her way home to share Ron's last days, also survive him.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, April 4 at 8:45 a.m. at Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home. 646 Newton St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne Church in Chicopee and burial in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Donations in Ron's memory may be made to Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society, P.O. Box 6307, Springfield, MA 01101. Please visit for more information.
