South Hadley - Seth T. Machak, 29, passed away Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, with the love of his family surrounding him. He was born Aug. 11, 1983 in Holyoke, MA, son of Mark and Cathy (Knight) Machak. Seth grew up in South Hadley, but a big piece of his heart always lived in Rhode Island. He attended South Hadley High School and Holyoke Community College. September of 2012, he relocated to CT where he worked for Watermark at East Hill in Southbury, CT as a Memory Impaired Practitioner.
Seth was extremely proud and devoted to the Mt. Tom Masonic Lodge, where he currently was Chaplain. His love for beekeeping was illuminated in Bees Knees Apiary, and those who knew Seth knew his appreciation for fine food and tending to gardens.
He will be dearly missed by his parents along with his only brother Caleb, sister-in-law Laura, and 7 week old nephew Merric. Aunts, uncles, and extended family in the Rhode Island and Pennsylvania states will always remember him, most especially his aunt, Beth Bennett.
The outpouring of support this past week during Seth's illness will long be remembered and appreciated by his family. They encourage continued "Random Acts of Sethness" to keep his memory alive; details at Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story S.Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St. (Rte 116) with a service on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mt. Tom Masonic Lodge, 253 Chestnut St., Holyoke, MA 01040. For details, please visit
