PLAINFIELD - Tadeusz L. Chudy, 87, of 32 East Main St., passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013.

A long time resident of Plainfield, he leaves at home his loving wife of 64 years, Ruth Mary (Parker); son Marc Chudy of Geneva, Ill.; son Michael Chudy and wife Kathi DiMiceli of Eastport, Maine; son Frank Chudy of Carbondale, Colo.; daughter Catherine Chudy of Torrington, Conn.; sister Lorraine Kapinos of Chicopee; three granddaughters; one great-grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by two brothers, John and Raymond, and three sisters, Betty DiMattio, Mary Sawicki and Dale Chudy.

Born Aug. 31, 1925, in Three Rivers to Frank J. Chudy and Victoria (Gaj) Chudy, he was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy as a hospital seaman. A man of many interests, he was a tax accountant, owner of Chudy's Tire Barn in Plainfield, and a breeder of St. Bernard dogs. Never being one to sit still, he built his current house at the age of 70 and did not slow down until a stroke three years ago. He was an avid gardener and greatly enjoyed his vegetable and flower gardens.

Private funeral arrangements are by Williamsburg Funeral Home and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Plainfield Fire Department.
