CHICOPEE - William E. Mitchell, 43, of Chicopee, passed away suddenly Saturday, July 20, 2013, at home.

He was born July 27, 1969, in Northampton, the son of the late Edward L. Mitchell and his beloved mother Carol J. (Meyers) Mitchell of Easthampton.

Bill was educated in the Easthampton schools and was a graduate of the Easthampton High School class of 1987.

Bill was employed as a truck driver for the Sweeney Trucking Company in Chicopee. Previously he had been employed for the J. Polep Distribution in Chicopee for 20 years and also the A.C. Motors in West Springfield.

Bill was an avid outdoors man who loved to go hunting and fishing, he enjoyed his trips to the casino and most of all spending time with his family.

Besides his mother, Bill leaves his beloved son Jonathan C. Mitchell of Chicopee; his devoted sister Donna Lee Mitchell of Northampton; his adored nieces Jade and Lilly; his companion Kelley Schultz; and his many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A calling hour will be held Sunday, July 28, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the O'Brien Funeral Home, followed by a service at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
