NORTHAMPTON - Joan D. (Tacy) Healy, 85, of Dogwood Lane, passed away Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at the Center for Extended Care in Amherst.

Born Aug. 10, 1928, in Northampton, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Emily (Bedard) Tacy. Joan lived in Chesterfield for many years before moving to Northampton in 2002.
She worked at New England Tel & Tel for many years. Joan also served as post master in Chesterfield for 18 years, retiring in 1992.
She worked election polls and was a member of the Chesterfield Council on Aging where she was a former member of the board of directors. She was a longtime Communicant of Our Lady of the Hills Parish in Haydenville.
Joan's husband Morris "Babe" Healy passed away in 2003.
She is survived by her sister Shirley Schwartz; son Steven Healy of Southampton; her two daughters, Karen Denno of Florence, and Frances Sikorski of Hatfield; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Joan was predeceased by her three brothers, Roland, Howard and Stanley Tacy and two sisters, Grace Brazeau and Bertha White, and was the last of 13 children.
Joan's Funeral will be Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Ahearn Funeral Home, 783 Bridge Road, Northampton, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Our Lady of the Hills Church in Haydenville at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the spring in Center Cemetery in Chesterfield.
Calling hours are Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m.
