NORTHAMPTON - Michael J. "Mags" Maginnis, 55, passed peacefully Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at home after a long illness.

He was the son of William T. Maginnis, Sr., and the late Roslyn D. Maginnis of Northampton. He graduated from Northampton High School in 1976.

He was currently employed by Coco-Cola in Northampton. Mike was an avid New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox fan.

He leaves the light of his life Liam Michael Maginnis of Northampton and his three brothers, Bill Maginnis and his wife Terry of Northampton, Tim Maginnis and his wife Pat of Westhampton, and Steve Maginnis and his wife Betsy of Easthampton. He is also survived by his two sisters, Dianne Dostal and her husband Bill of Florence, and Katie Maginnis and her husband Brian Begley of Northampton. Michael also loved sharing life with his two nephews, Brad Dostal and Colin Larkin, as well as his nieces Molly Butler, Maggie Thoresen, Rebekah Maginnis, Abigael Maginnis, Kelly Maginnis, Kim McFarland, Hillary Dostal and Jennifer Neumann. He also leaves several great-nephews and nieces. Mike also leaves a long time very special friend Teresa McCarthy of West Springfield.

Michael was very appreciative for all the love and support showed by his family, co-workers and numerous friends during these last few weeks.

Michael's funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Ahearn Funeral Home, 783 Bridge Road, Northampton. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m.
