WEST CHESTERFIELD - Edmund Stasz, 92, of Cummington Road, passed away Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at his home.

Born in Easthampton, he was the son of the late John and Jozefa (Skorska) Stasz.

Edmund was a retired telephone repairman for the former New England Telephone Company.

He was a World War II Army Air Corp Veteran having served as a lieutenant with the 9th Air Force 390th fighter squadron, flying P47's. He was awarded a Special Diploma by the Republic of France for his war service.

Edmund was a member of the Easthampton American Legion Dalton LaVallee Post 224, an honorary life member of the Northampton World War II Veterans Association, the Telecom Pioneers, a long time communicant of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and a Eagle Boy Scout.

He leaves his sons Peter Stasz of Holyoke, Paul Stasz of New York, N.Y., and Edmund Stasz, Jr., of Southampton; his former wife Carol Stasz of Southampton; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his wife Carolann (Wood) Stasz, his sons Thomas and Gregory Stasz, his sisters Helen Stasz, Amelia Borowski and Alice Laguillon and his brothers Frank, Walter, Henry and Joseph Stasz.

His funeral will be held Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at 9 a.m. at the Boucher-O'Brien Funeral Home, 7 Pleasant St., Easthampton, followed with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of The Valley Church, 33 Adams St., Easthampton. Burial with military honors will be held Monday, Feb. 24, at 10 a.m. at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.

Calling hours are Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.
