EASTHAMPTON - Wojciech Urban, 100, formerly of Mt. Tom Avenue, Easthampton, passed away peacefully Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at the Holyoke Medical Center in Holyoke.

He was born April 12, 1913, in Giedlarowa, Poland, the son of the late Szczepan and Anna (Rup) Urban. He was educated in the local schools.
He immigrated to the United States in 1967, settling in Easthampton, where he has lived ever since.
Wojciech was employed for several years as a custodian at the former Stanley Home Products. He was a long time communicant of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Easthampton, and presently a member of the Our Lady of the Valley Parish.
His beloved wife of 64 years, Wiktoria (Poltorak) Urban, passed away in 2011. His cherished daughter Gladys Zaraya, his two brothers, and two sisters in Poland, predeceased him.
He leaves his loving children Mary Stochel and her husband Stanley of Southampton, Genevieve Nowak and Stanley Urban both of Easthampton; his six cherished grandchildren, Andrew and Marc Stochel, Richard, Mark and Alicia Nowak, and Susan Rapoza; his two adored great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Veronica; and many nieces and nephews in Poland.
The funeral service will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from the O'Brien Funeral Home, 17 Clark St., followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at the Our Lady of the Valley Church, 33 Adams St., burial will be in the St. Stanislaus Cemetery, all are in Easthampton.
Calling hours will be held Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m.
