FLORENCE - Donna M. (Angers) Kapinos, 68, formerly of Florence, passed away Monday, March 3, 2014, at her daughters home in Hatfield.

Donna was born July 5, 1945, in Holyoke, the daughter of the late Roland and Isle (Rudolph) Angers. She was educated at the former Holy Rosary High School in Holyoke, class of 1963. Donna later earned a degree in nursing from the former Providence Nursing program in Holyoke.

Donna had been employed at the Mt. St. Vincent's Care Center in Holyoke for many years, retiring in 1998 due to ill health.

Donna had been a communicant of the former St. Mary's Church in Northampton. Donna was a talented crotchetier who would share her talents by making and donating her blankets to the Cooley Dickinson Hospital Premature Neonatal Unit. She also greatly enjoyed her bus trips to play at Foxwood.

Her beloved husband Henry A. Kapinos passed away in 2000. She was also predeceased by her brother Robert Angers.

Donna leaves her four loving children, Sharlene A. Mole and her husband Joe of Ludlow, Paul R. Kaplan, Jr., of Florida, Duane Kaplan and his wife Melissa of West Virginia, and Cynithia Langevin of Hatfield; her caring step-daughters Shirley Kapinos and Sharon Kapinos of Chicopee; her many adored grandchildren; her cherished great-grandchild; and her many nieces and nephews. Donna is also survived by her brothers and sister Joan Champagne of Holyoke, John Angers of South Hadley, and James Angers of Holyoke.

A funeral service will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from the O'Brien Funeral Home, 17 Clark St., Easthampton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. at the Our Lady of the Valley Parish, 33 Adams St., Easthampton. Burial will be at the St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Easthampton. Calling hours will be held Friday from 5 to 7 p.m.

The brothers and sister of Donna's daughter Cynthia want to acknowledge their beloved sister's tireless efforts and extraordinary love, care and compassion that she was able to provide to their mother in her final months and days. It was because of her that their mom was able to leaves this world in comfort and dignity.
