EASTHAMPTON - Robert G. Wallace, 88, of Loudville Road, passed away Monday, March 10, 2014, at Linda Manor Extended Care Facility.

Born in Fitchburg, he was the son of the late Joseph and Orena (Lanier) Wallace.

Bob retired as a steamfitter for the former Easthampton Dye Works and previously had worked for Easthampton United Elastic Corporation.

He attended the former St. Michaels High School and was a World War II veteran serving with the United States Navy.

Bob was married to the late Gerri (Mumblow) Wallace who passed away in 2001.

He leaves his children Gary Wallace and his wife Mary of Huntington, JoAnn Williams and her husband Scott of Hubbardston, and Jeffrey Wallace and his wife Laura of Easthampton, and his grandchildren Kim Cyr and her husband Matt, Joseph Wallace, Kate Wallace, Sarah Gorgulu and her husband Semih, Jennifer Williams, Rebecca Wallace, and Emilie Wallace.

Besides his wife and his parents, he was predeceased by his son Robert J. who passed away in 2005.

His wishes were to be an anatomical gift to UMass Medical Center.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Brigids Cemetery at a later date.

Donations may be made in his memory to the VA Medical Center, 421 North Main St., Leeds, MA 01053.
