SPRINGFIELD - Dorothy A. (Deren) LaBranche, 61, of Stuart Street, formerly a longtime resident of Easthampton, passed away suddenly at the Baystate Medical Center in Springfield on Thursday, March 13, 2014.

She was born in Holyoke on June 28, 1952, the daughter of Joseph and Sophie H. (Tobias) Deren. She was a graduate of Easthampton High School, class of 1970. Dottie had been employed at the former Tubed Products in Easthampton for several years. She was a parishioner of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Easthampton. Dottie was a longtime and active member of the Dalton Lavallee American Legion Women's Auxiliary Unit 224.
She leaves her beloved husband of 27 years, Philip A. LaBranche; her loving daughter, Michelle A. Poudrier, with whom she lived in Springfield; her two cherished grandchildren, Felicia S. and Joshua J. Poudrier; her caring sisters and brothers, Christine Freniere, Connie Worthen, Robert, Daniel, Edward, Joseph, and Theodore Deren; her many aunts, uncles, niece, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends.
Dottie was predeceased by her first loving husband, Richard Pontbriant, in 1978.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, March 18, 2014, from 10 a.m. to noon at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 17 Clark St., Easthamp-ton, followed by a graveside service to be held at the Brookside Cemetery in Easthampton.
