FLORENCE – Steven M. Chalmers, 61, of Westhampton Road, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at the Cooley Dickinson Hospital.

Born May 5, 1952, in Northampton, he was the son of Milton and Edna (Klicki) Chalmers. He graduated from Northampton High School class of 1970.

Steven worked for the Department of Energy retiring in 2008. He was a member of the Northampton Elks Lodge #997. Steven enjoyed nature and watching the wildlife in his yard. He liked dining out with friends, spending time and vacationing with his family, and riding his Harley.

He leaves his wife of 38 years Karen (Pelis) Chalmers; daughters Shannan Rowell and her husband William of North Grafton, and Halley Chalmers of Riverside, R.I.; his granddaughter Kathryn Rowell, and his soon to be second granddaughter.

The funeral services will be Monday with a calling hour at the Czelusniak Funeral home of Northampton from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass at St. Valentines Church on King Street at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Hatfield.
